If you’ve been online recently you may have noticed that the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new website.

That’s right. Just a few weeks ago, the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau launched a brand new website. It can be found at http://visitrichmondhill.com/.

I was a fan of the older website they used, but after having compared the two, I think it’s no contest: the new one is a significant improvement over what came before. I must admit I was surprised to find that the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new website, but once I looked into the situation a little it all made perfect sense.

It seems that the ougoing Executive Director of the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chris Sheppard, worked hard to complete this project before she left the position a few weeks back on May 23rd after over half a decade holding down the fort. This new website was accomplished through cooperation with the person who will now take over Sheppard’s old job: incoming Executive Director of the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau, Christy Sherman.

Apparently, the main goal of the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau launching a new website was to really maximize the options afforded to folks who cruise the website – options that the previous version simply did not offer as smoothly or as efficiently. These options include showcasing the wide variety of events, businesses, nightlife, etc…, that Richmond Hill, Ga. currently has to offer.

Instead of hiring an outside firm to create the new website (which many folks do, as it is incredibly easy to competetive shop for design services online), the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau thoughtfully chose to hire a local firm. That firm, Boost by Design, is run by a husband and wife who moved to Richmond Hill about four years ago in hopes of tapping into the many lifestyle and business opportunities available in our area, which as I am sure all of you know is growing by leaps and bounds.

So, now that the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new website, what exactly will that mean for the city of Richmond Hill?

Well, the website has reportedly been designed to focus on the specific ways in which tourists plan their trips nowadays. The website includes an interactive map that allows users to tap into all sorts of data and information that they’ll need in order to plan their potential visit to the Richmond Hill area. It’s so intuitive and informative that folks who use it in advance of coming here may actually wind up feeling they have been to Richmond Hill before.

Best of all, the fact that Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new website will not be lost on folks who primarily use their smartphones to navigate through life, as the new website is compatible with mobile technology as well as standard computer web surfing.

If you haven’t checked it out already, give it a whirl, and spread the news just as I have done here: Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau has a new website!
