So, it’s been almost exactly a month since Richmond Hill welcomed a new Memorial Health office on Highway 17. Have you yourself passed by the building yet?
Apparently, the Ribbon Cutting ceremony on May 1 found members of the Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce and other invited guests socializing and celebrating the impressive new facility. In truth, it was not merely a new office, but a new address for an existing office that was relocating.
The address, where Richmond Hill welcomed a new Memorial Health office, 3776 Highway 17, is just about directly across from the entrance to the Piercefield subdivision. I’m told that after the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, there was an Open House where folks gathered and toured the entire office. Rumor has it that refreshments were served as well!
Several doctors will practice at this new location – some of whom I believe may have been open for business at the time of the Ribbon Cutting, and some who I think are in the process of moving their practices there even now, since Richmond Hill welcomed a new Memorial Health office.
It’s a little confusing, but I believe that’s correct.
Memorial Health University Physicians’ Richmond Hill Family Practice and the local branch of Provident OB/GYN Associates set up shop there on April 21, and Family physicians Kristina Johnson, M.D., and Bobbie Kumar, M.D., moved in right next door.
Dr. Johnson and Dr. Kumar, because theirs is a family practice, will treat all ages for everything from minor illnesses and injuries to sports and annual physicals. They’ll also offer a wide range of immunizations (which are of increasing importance in this day and age).
This new building will hold everything these physicians need, such as examination rooms, procedure rooms, laboratory space and even a special space for the various specialists which will visit there routinely to help patients.
A bit further down Highway 17 at 3780 Highway 17, you can find obstetrician-gynecologist Darren Preuninger, M.D, who I’m told will offer comprehensive OB/GYN care for women of all ages.
